Description: The Henry County Community Foundation accepts grant applications from non-profit organizations serving Henry County, Indiana. Only organizations who attended the grant workshop are eligible to apply. (2020 spring workshop is on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 4 pm. Sign in and attendance of at least one representative per organization is required.)
Community Grant Categories: The Henry County Community Foundation addresses the broad community needs of Henry County which include, but are not limited to, the following five categories:
- HEALTH AND MEDICAL – to include the support of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, not-for-profit health and medical related programs including safety and wellness and recreational programs;
- SOCIAL SERVICES – to include the support of human service organizations, programs for children and youth, and services to the aged;
- EDUCATION – to include support for programs in preschool, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education, scholarships, and special education programs;
- CULTURAL AFFAIRS – to include the support of programs and facilities which are designed to establish a diversified county cultural program that offers widespread opportunities for participation and appreciation; and
- CIVIC AFFAIRS – to include the support of programs and facilities related to criminal justice, community development, employment, citizens’ involvement, leadership training, and other community activities.

Jack and Kathy Anderson Endowment Fund is designated to help young people in the New Castle Community grow in their development of learning, experiencing and mastering a foreign language.

Requirement: New Castle High School foreign exchange programs
Description: The Jean Bond Hough Foreign Exchange Student Endowment was established from money willed by Jean Bond Hough for the purpose of supporting foreign exchange programs (incoming and outgoing) at New Castle High School, New Castle, Indiana.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed by the committee in a timely manner after they are received by the Foundation.

Requirement: Grants $2,500 and under preferred;
Description: Any non-profit organization may apply for a TASC grant so long as the grant monies will be used for programs/projects benefiting the youth of Henry County, Indiana. Grants under $2,500 preferred.

Description: The Teacher Excellence Award is designed to recognize teachers who have demonstrated an unusual commitment to inspire students to reach for difficult and lofty goals. Persons nominated will have earned the respect of students, parents and peers through sustained effort, high moral standards and the likelihood of enduring beneficial effects on the students with which they have worked.
Any current, full-time teacher of a not-for-profit, public school within Henry County, Indiana is eligible for nomination.
